Benjamin Petrovic is a Clinical Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University.
He is a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT).
Benjamin has extensive experience in working with individuals living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and has a particular interest in treating anxiety-related concerns, including death anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, in addition to depression.
Benjamin’s therapeutic style is warm and compassionate, recognising that a comfortable, trusting and supportive relationship with clients is key to achieving positive outcomes.
He integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy (ST), customising his approach to meet each client's needs.
As a PhD candidate at Macquarie University, Benjamin's research investigates the causes of loneliness, now recognised as a pressing public health concern affecting many Australians. His work aims to create interventions that address loneliness and foster social connectedness, improving mental health outcomes in the Australian community.
In addition, Benjamin has published peer-reviewed research examining the link between death anxiety and mental illness.
Benjamin offers appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
